Intellectualism. Sensuality. Emotion. Freedom.

With the short film “Three Women”, filmmaker Sean Coffman, choreographer Rodney Veal and dancer Dawn Quigley collaborated to fuse the choreography of dance with the choreography of cinematography to reflect the soul of three iconic women singers of the WWII era: Marlene Dietrich, Josephine Baker, and Edith Piaf.

This fifteen-minute film was funded by a grant from the Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District and CultureWorks!, and premiered in Dayton, Ohio in September 2005.

“Three Women” was produced by Dance for Film, a non-profit organization founded by Coffman, Veal, and Quigley to promote the education and creation of projects focused on combining choreography for the stage with the choreography of cinematography.
